Educators, Graduate Students Recognized for Completing AASA
Urban Superintendents Academy Programs at National Conference on Education
(Plainfield, NJ) – (March 1, 2020) – In response to the challenges facing public school districts in America’s urban communities, AASA, The School Superintendents Association, is pleased to announce that Nadia Bennett, Executive Director at College Achieve Central Charter School is among the educators to complete the organization’s prestigious Urban Superintendents Academy program.
“The AASA/Howard University Urban Superintendents Academy was a major milestone for me in my career as I work towards higher levels of a school administrator in an urban setting,” said Bennett. “The academy is a powerful program because the mentors and facilitators who guided us have a strong commitment to education and years of experience. I thank AASA and Howard University for making this opportunity possible.”
The academy is a cross-institutional partnership that offers a dynamic approach to urban superintendent preparation and certification. AASA has launched distinct partnerships with Howard University and the University of Southern California to bolster the effectiveness of school district leadership in our nation’s urban areas.
The Urban Superintendents Academy is recognized as one of the premier programs in the country. Drawing on the strengths of its members and partners, AASA brings the most effective and inspiring thought leader practitioners to serve as instructors, mentors and presenters.
We are already seeing the benefits of the program in Bennett's practice here at College Achieve. Great things are sure to come!
